Sous-espèces *selon : Clements 2019 & IOC 11.1 :
S. c. cinerea : centre du Queensland jusqu'au nord du Victoria et sud-est de Southern Australia ;
S. c. dalyi : intérieur du Northern Territory et nord du Queensland.

Habitat : Forêt tropicale et subtropicale sèche ; zones de pâturages agricoles, jardins ruraux ou constructions urbaines ; savane sèche ; zones arbustives tropicales ou subtropicales sèches.
